CORAL SEA &
GREAT BARRIER REEF,
AUSTRALIA

Spirit of Freedom Liveaboard

November 6-13, 2025

Standard Cabin $3975 per person,
double occupancy

Triple Occupancy $3475 per person

The Great Barrier Reef is still breathtaking -
you just have to go a bit further to dive the best of it.

The Great Barrier Reef stretches for 2,500 kilometers off the Queensland coast, longer than the distance from Maine to Florida. Like coral reefs everywhere, it is in danger, but all is not yet lost! Along those many miles of outer reef, there are numerous beautiful coral-covered dive sites with little to no sign of bleaching. But you won't visit those reefs on a day trip from Cairns. You have to invest the time to experience the best, so we've chartered a liveaboard to take us there.

Spirit of Freedom is the perfect vessel to transport us to the excellent diving north of Cairns at the Ribbon Reefs and Cod Hole, as well as the clear deep waters of the Coral Sea far offshore. Join your hosts Rhia Weinhaus and Greg Hamman on this exciting special departure for 22 LGBTQ+ divers and our friends.

You will need to have logged five dives within the 12 months prior to this expedition. If you've been out of the water for a bit, why not join us in Fiji for four days as a warm-up on and break up the journey down under?

Don't hesitate - make 2025 the year you visit Australia and dive the Great Barrier Reef!
E-mail us today to hold your space on board this expedition.

Our Package Includes:

  • Seven nights on board Spirit of Freedom liveaboard (double occupancy)
  • Five days of four to five dives daily (up to 26 dives total)
  • Breakfast, lunch, and dinner and snacks daily on board
  • Transfers within Cairns to and from Trinity Wharf
  • Tanks, weights and weight belt

Not Included: Airfare, rental gear, instruction, items of a personal nature, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages other than wine and beer at dinner.

Getting There:
International flights can be booked 330 days in advance, in December 2024.

Plan to arrive in Cairns, Queensland (CNS) no later than 9 am on Thursday, November 6. It's wise to arrive a day early and relax. We're happy to suggest hotels in Cairns, or arrange a stay for you at Turtle Cove LGBTQ+ resort.

It's simple to fly to Cairns (CNS) from Brisbane (BNE), Sydney, or Melbourne on Qantas or Virgin Australia.

From North America, there are non-stop flights to Brisbane from Los Angeles (LAX) and San Francisco (SFO), or fly to Fiji and connect there after a few days of diving with us.

On Thursday, November 13, Spirit of Feedom returns to Cairns in the early morning. You can continue your travels from Cairns to elsewhere in Australia and New Zealand or back home that afternoon, 18 to 24 hours after your last dive on Wednesday. Or spend some time exploring Far North Queensland including Kuranda or the Daintree.

Deposit:
Deposit of $750 is due upon booking to hold space. Second payment of $750 due at nine months. Third payment of $750 due at 180 days. Balance due 120 days prior to departure.

All rates are per person, double occupancy in US Dollars. Special rates for Australia and New Zealand residents available - contact us for details.

How to reserve your space:

  1. Call or E-mail us to check availability.
  2. We'll place a space on courtesy hold for you and send you a confirmation e-mail.
  3. Complete and return the trip application and waiver from the letter with your deposit by check, ACH, or credit card.
  4. Make your airline reservations. We're happy to help you find the best flights.
