Just a few months of the year, from mid-March through early June, conditions in the Philippines' Sulu Sea are reliable enough to dive the remote Tubbataha Reefs, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to some very exciting diving.
We've chartered the S/Y Philippine Siren, a beautiful ironwood and teak gaff-rigged Phinisi liveaboard. All diving takes place from her two rigid hull inflatable tenders.
Dive site highlights of our planned Tubbataha itinerary can be viewed here:
As always, sea conditions and the captain's judgment determine the final itinerary.
This is advanced diving at some sites. You should carry a minimum of Advanced Open Water certification and be comfortable diving from a zodiac in current, with the buoyancy skills to execute a blue water safety stop with an SMB. A reef hook is not required but is sometimes useful. Contact us if you'd like to speak with the trip leader about the skills you'll need to have fun!
You can maximize your vacation and get back in the water a few days early to make sure your diving skills are at their peak for this expedition by joining us at Atlantis Resort Puerto Galera April 7-12, 2018.
Not included: International airfare to Manila (see air info below), domestic flight and transfer between Manila and Puerto Princesa, Marine Park fees (100 Euro/USD $110), wine and liquor, crew gratuity, trip insurance, DAN or other diving insurance (mandatory), and departure taxes (currently PhP 200 for domestic departures from Manila and PhP 750 for international departures).
Arrive in Manila (MNL) by April 11 or earlier to connect with the domestic departure for Puerto Princesa on the island of Palawan on the morning of April 12. If you are not joining us at Atlantis Resort Puerto Galera, we recommend booking the Cebu Pacific flight 5J 647 at 10:55 am on April 12 from Manila to Puerto Princesa.
Divers coming from Atlantis Resort Puerto Galera: please book Philippine Airlines flight PR 2785 on April 12, departing Manila (MNL) at 13:10 and arriving in Puerto Princesa (PPS) at 14:25. This is the only flight that leaves late enough for us to depart from Puerto Galera that morning, yet early enough to board the liveaboard in time.
We'll disembark from Philippines Siren no later than 10 am on April 18. You have a choice on April 18 of Philippine Airlines flight PR 2786 from Puerto Princesa to Manila at 15:25 (or any flight after that as well), or an earlier return on Cebu Pacific flight 5J 644 at 13:25.
Please allow at least four hours connection time in Manila between your domestic flight and international departure.
Deposit: $700 to hold space;
second deposit of $1000 at nine months; third deposit of $1000 at six months;
final payment due 120 days prior to departure.
How to reserve your space:
We'll place a space on courtesy hold for you and send you a confirmation e-mail.
Complete and return the trip application and waiver from the letter with your deposit by check or credit card.
Make your airline reservations. We're happy to help you find the best flights.
